After four successful years of running this competition, SEW Eurodrive and Festo have once again committed to sponsoring the PneuDrive Challenge engineering student competition in 2012. This competition is aimed at highlighting innovation in mechatronic design and calls on third and fourth year students in the mechanical, electronic and mechatronic engineering fields of study to test their knowledge, design skills and creativity. A unique feature of the PneuDrive Challenge is that most universities have been able to incorporate the competition into their design curriculum.
The competition is part of the sponsors’ efforts to combat the skills shortage in South Africa by exposing students to the latest technology in drive engineering and pneumatics.
