MOVITRANS®
MOVITRANS®, the contactless energy transfer system from SEW-EURODRIVE, works on the principle of inductive energy transfer. In this system, electrical energy is transferred without contact from a fixed conductor to one or more mobile consumers. The electromagnetic connection is made via an air gap and is not subject to wear; it is therefore maintenance-free.

The SEW Eurodrive Energy Efficiency Calculator
Undoubtedly, investment costs for electrical drives are minor when compared to the overall investment in a system or plant. But it is the energy consumption of the selected drive technology that has a decisive influence on the follow-up costs.
If you compare all costs incurred during the life cycle of a system, you will notice that energy costs of systems that have not been optimized with respect to their energy consumption can constitute up to 90 % of the follow-up costs.
SEW Eurodrive has added a user friendly energy saving calculator to their website. The calculator needs only a few details on the application and in return it will give users an estimated energy saving per annum as well as an in-dication of the amortisation period.
